The Fool’s Lantern is Saint Michaels’ first and only self-serve wine and taproom. Our drink wall features 12 draft beers and 24 wines, paired with a menu consisting of a variety of tapas, charcuterie, sandwiches, dips, and desserts. Customers can sample a selection of wine and beer, each dispensed at the push of a button. We have seating for 49 inside, drink rails for standing and socializing, and seating outside for an additional 12.
We offer flexible private party options including but not limited to:
- Alternative beverage options: We have a full liquor license and can offer a wide variety of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits for your occasion, including a private bartender(s).
- Food and decor options: We have curated a list of trusted vendors and can work with you to customize the experience to your taste.

The Fool’s Lantern is a wonderful new addition to St. Michael’s. It has a fun atmosphere with wonderful food and great service. The drink wall has prices clearly marked with a variety of beer and wine for all tastes. I recently was part of a group of 26 and the staff didn’t miss a beat! The food is very upscale and most portions are so large they can easily be shared. Everyone had a wonderful time and cannot wait to return to try more options!! My wife and I were in town and tried Fools Lantern and I’m so glad we did! It’s become an instant favorite. The self-serve technology worked smoothly, and allowed us to explore the diverse wine and beer selection at our own pace. The genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff created an inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The attention to detail in both service and food made it an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to go back!
This is a nice place. Quaint spot for food and drinks although we just had a few drinks. The pour your own concept is very unique and adds quite a bit of charm. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely go back.
This place is amazing! Self service beer and wine! The menu is great for tapas, charcuterie, fondue and small bites. Staff is very friendly and the location is perfect. It’s a must visit in St Michaels!
