Nautical Wedding on the Miles River

We’re smitten with Bre & Nathan’s preppy wedding style! From the nautical stripes to the oh-so-charming tablescapes, this couple and their fabulous team of vendors put together an event to remember, all captured by Melissa Grimes-Guy Photography!

From Jody of Diamonds & Confetti: I was lucky enough to work with Bre and Nate for over a year leading up to their special day. They had certainly dealt with their share of distance, as Nate is in the Navy and was away on-ship for a period of time during the initial venue scouting. When he returned, and I met with them both in person, I could tell immediately how excited he was to make sure Bre got the day that she had always dreamed of! I enjoyed every minute of planning and creating their beautiful day! It was filled with genuine happiness that could be seen in not only the bride and groom, but in both families and friends as well.  From the beginning, they had a clear vision of a nautical wedding with a hint of vintage. From the little signs placed throughout the reception tent, to their signature drink, everything reflected that look. One of my favorite moments was the Navy Sword Arch after the ceremony; it was a moving sight to see as they walked through, and I felt so proud of them and happy for their love! I was very grateful that they chose me to be a part of this day and I thank the wonderful vendors who worked together to make it possible!

From Debbie of Swan Cove Flowers: Bre and Nate were a delight to work with! After meeting with the bride and groom to get a feel for their style, we decided that they wanted a nautical feel (Nate is in the Navy) with a touch of elegance. Bre supplied the coral vases and lanterns that she wanted to use for centerpieces, accented with navy and white-striped runners and sand dollars. I love that brides are mixing small vases and mason jars! It’s all these little touches that make a wedding special and memorable!
