Oxford proved to be the perfect backdrop for Kelsey and Justin’s waterfront engagement session!
From the soon-to-be bride: My fiance planned a dinner for us at The Inn at Little Washington in Virginia and proposed just before going to dinner! It was a beautiful night and he surprised me by inviting our parents to come for dinner after the proposal. The ring wasn’t a total surprise; I knew he had a diamond that was his grandmother’s, and had it re-set after asking my mother for design advice. I chose to wear the same dress for the photo shoot that I wore to dinner when Justin proposed.
My favorite part of the engagement session was spending the evening on the Eastern Shore! It was an absolutely stunning night in mid-August…no humidity and a beautiful sunset. We live and work in the Washington D.C. area and love any opportunity to go the Eastern Shore. Melissa is so very relaxed and kind. She knows we aren’t professional models and that posing for the camera is awkward; her warm personality put us at ease! We chose to take our photos at Bachelor’s Point in Oxford, MD. My aunt lives there so we visit often, and our wedding venue, The Oaks Waterfront Inn, is not far. We can’t wait to use the engagement photos for a Save-the-Date card we are mailing this month. We didn’t think we needed an engagement photo shoot, but now that we have the pictures, we absolutely love them. I’m so glad we did the shoot!
