Now that we’re halfway through 2014, we wanted to see what trends projected for this year stuck around. We talked with Kari Rider of Kari Rider Events, who wrote our wedding trend post at the first of the year. Kari shared pictures from one of her gorgeous weddings at The Inn at Huntingfield Creek. Take a look:
COLORS
Pinks were high on the list, including most every hue in the spectrum from dusty to mauve!
FARM SETTING
The rustic look was projected to be very popular, with farms, farmhouses, unfinished buildings high on the list for venues. Wood slabs and wooden table accents were also predicted to be on-trend, and boy were they ever!
VINTAGE VIBES
Period furniture, antique lace runners, vintage doors, pearls, re-purposed flea market finds (think cool distressed candlesticks) have all proved their staying power and popularity so far this year.
OPULENT FABRICS
Good-bye boring tablecloths! Brides were predicted to prefer opulent fabrics on the table, with color and texture. They didn’t disappoint! Gorgeous tablecloths, runners, napkins, flags, and chair covers were a beautiful, unique focal point!
FROSTED CAKES
It is all about the texture! No smooth fondant unless it is dressed up with flower clusters, ribbon flourishes, and custom themes.
How do all of these details come together, you ask? A great planner, of course!
