Lisa and Trip and Maddie make three!

January 23, 2014

Lisa and Trip and Maddie make three!

A month after their ceremony at the lovely Oaks Waterfront Inn & Events in Royal Oak, Maryland, newlyweds Lisa and Trip, eager to add a canine companion to their new family, discovered the Facebook page “Saving Maddie.” Lisa immediately began corresponding with the foster parent of a pretty black and white spotted, 50-pound Dalmatian/American Staffordshire Terrier mix named “Maddie.”

After several messages and a few phone calls, they realized they shared a second common thread- the foster mother was, at the time of their wedding, a sous chef at The Oaks. The rest is history! Three days later, Lisa and Trip met Maddie, and many compassionate volunteers, at the Caroline County Humane Society.
“Maddie Oaks,” whose name is a nod to the wedding venue that brought their stories together, now lives with her forever family in Montgomery County and still frequently visits with her foster parents.
