There is something so absolutely elegant about Allie & Luke’s private estate wedding. They kept their styling simple and beautiful with greys and neutrals + pops of deep green. But it was Allie’s stunning lace and tulle gown that totally stole the show. Can you say #bridalgoals? If you need us, we’ll be endlessly daydreaming about this gallery from Karena Dixon Photography…
From the bride: How we met: Luke and I both attended North Caroline High School in Ridgely, Maryland. We both played for the school’s varsity soccer teams which is how we began.
How he proposed: One of our favorite places to be is in the mountains. After Christmas, his family always takes a trip to Seven Springs ski resort in PA. It’s a tradition I have grown to love and look forward to every year. We spend the day at the slopes then enjoy our nights around the lodge. This particular night, Luke’s family went ahead of us to grab a table for dinner. When we finally made it to the restaurant, a photographer asked if he could take a picture of Luke’s brother, Brian, and his sister in law, Natalie, along with Luke and I. I said no because I was so hungry and I knew Luke’s parents were waiting on us. They convinced me to just take one picture so the four of us got together for a photo. Then Luke asked the photographer for a photo of just him and I. Of course I’m thinking “seriously? Can’t we just eat already?” As the photographer is taking photos of us, Luke gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him. My initial response was “really??” and then of course “yes!” After saying yes, I turned around to see our families waiting to congratulate us. Luke had surprised me by having my family come up for the big moment! It was so great being able to share such a special time with our families.
The big day: The big day always comes and goes so quickly and ours was no different. Some rain passed through in the morning, but the day turned out to be beautiful. I wish every morning could be spent sipping on mimosas while getting all dolled up surrounded by your best friends. Before we knew it, I was getting into my dress and we were getting ready to walk down the aisle. The violin started playing and all the guests took their seats. Soon after my father walked me down the aisle to Luke. The ceremony was performed by Luke’s father which was something that we’ll always cherish. After the ceremony, we had a beautiful reception full of great food, lots of dancing, and happiness.

It was a pleasure to make Luke and Allie’s wedding cake and cake pops. Cordova Cakery has been making all the Bilbroughs cakes for years. I have made cakes for Keith, Lisa, Brian, Luke and Abby for many years. Wonderful family!!
