Vintage Florals for
Casey and Eric’s Wedding
A LookBook from
Seasonal Flowers
When Casey B thought about her wedding florals, she decided she wanted a “vintage” feel. Especially since she had chosen The Oaks in Royal Oak, MD as her venue- she knew how charming yet sophisticated the Inn was- so reflecting and blending that with her floral selections was appealing. Having her wedding at this wonderful Eastern Shore waterfront wedding venue definitely fit with this look. Since she was a creative and artistic bride, she could envision all the various arrangements looking lovely and unique. And so, together with her mom, Kathie, they teamed up with Shirley and Roxanne from Seasonal Flowers in Trappe, MD, to create centerpieces, wreathes, floral sculptures and other floral decorations that set the tone and feel for her day. Kathie took advantage of myriad Eastern Shore antique shops, picking up unique vintage vases that Shirley filled to overflowing with hydrangea, peonies, ranunculus, anemones, billy balls, lisanthus and ivy. In fact, Shirley, who is an antique dealer herself on the side, supplied some of the glassware from her own collection.
As guests strolled over the white bridge to the ceremony site, they passed draping ivy and greenery with lavender daisies creating a flower walkway. For the ceremony, something special was called for. A creative branch sculpture of flowers, hanging crystals and pearls was designed and was hung between the twin pines where Casey and Ryan stood while they took their vows. Mason jars hung by natural twine and filled with white hydrangea, blush pink ranunculus and ivy were placed along the aisle chairs and continued the floral and vintage theme. Seasonal Flowers also created a large wreath that was hung on the dock roof peak and overlooked the wedding guests during their open-air cocktail hour. As for Shirley and Roxanne, they loved working with such an open-minded and creative bride!
