From the Bride: Rick and I got engaged in Napa Valley in July of 2014. When we started looking at dates and venues, the Eastern Shore was the perfect location for us since we live in the Annapolis area and have a lot family and friends in the Baltimore area. St. Michaels was just far enough to get the feel of a destination wedding, but close enough for our family & friends. We love the small riverside town of St. Michaels–it was exactly what we were going for!

When we found The Oaks, we loved the quaint, rustic, waterfront feel. It allowed us to spend the entire weekend there with our wedding party and immediate family. We also held our rehearsal dinner crab feast at The Oaks and loved that we could get married on the dock overlooking Oak Creek. Rick grew up on the water so this was especially important to us. The logistics were easy–with the ceremony on the dock, we walked right onto the lawn for cocktail hour, and into the ballroom for the reception!

Our favorite memory from our wedding day would have to be our first look; seeing each other for the first time and the whole “feel” of that exact moment! Melissa captured it SO well in the photos. We loved seeing all of the details of the wedding come together. My Mom and I spent so much time and effort planning every little detail and couldn’t have been happier with the result! There’s nothing I would change about the weekend–celebrating and having all of the love and support from our family & friends!
