“Rustic vibes, with a touch of elegance”- that’s how Nicole described her Eastern Shore wedding venue, Kylan Barn. And honestly, we think her playful and fresh decor dances to the same beat! Sprinkles of pink and soft, sweet-as-pie florals paired perfectly with shades of blue chambray and white lantern centerpieces. Lots of personal details really made this couple’s day unique – just check out those “face-framing” socks and the Bride’s hand-painted jacket. Now Go, Scroll my Queens! We know you’ll love Living Radiant Photography’s dreamy day-of gallery.
After being together for 8 1/2 years, college sweethearts Nicole and Raymond tied the knot on May 1, 2021 at Kylan Barn in Delmar, MD. And it was the most perfect day anyone could ever imagine!
From the Bride:
Raymond and I met in 2012 at Towson University while taking a kinesiology class together. From that moment on, we’ve been together! Then on Dec. 7, 2019, we went on their annual trip to pick out a Christmas tree. I definitely got more than a tree because Raymond got down on one knee and popped the question. Needless to say, it was a wonderful moment!
That’s When the Planning Began!
We always knew Kylan Barn was going to be the perfect venue for our vision for a rustic vibe with a touch of elegance. Every single detail spoke true to us as a couple, from the DIY decorations to the music throughout the night. Did I mention that we planned this entire day while dealing with a pandemic?
Special Moments Begin…
When guests arrived at Kylan Barn, they were welcomed by a gorgeous antique mirror. After taking their seats in front of the stunning white barn, they saw an incredible statement piece filled with greenery and flowers. We had placed that where we would be saying our vows. The ceremony began with the groomsmen and groom, wearing dark and light grey tuxedos took their places. The bridesmaids made their way down the aisle, wearing 2 dress styles picked out by the bride(me!) that included a solid English rose pink mixed with a floral design. The tone and colors made the bridal party really stand out.
I DO’s and Big League Chews!
The music began, and everyone turned around as I came over a hill with my father wearing the most gorgeous bridal gown and the biggest smile on my face. Once I locked eyes with my groom, neither of us could stop smiling! Dresses were blowing perfectly in the wind and the smell of the fresh flowers flowed throughout the ceremony. Reading our vows, you could tell we were meant to be! We couldn’t wait to say our “I DOs”.
After we were pronounced Mr. & Mrs., guests proceeded to cocktail hour passing gorgeous french doors that we had placed strategically for our seating chart. We also had antique ladders we’d painted ourselves that had a beautiful flower garland flowing down them. Guests enjoyed drinks, music, and even cornhole while we took our photos. Did I mention how gorgeous the scenery was?
As we all shuffled into the barn, all eyes were on the string lights that were wrapped around each pole along with hanging tall white sheers, pulling the entire place together. The linens and the decor we chose made the entire venue really “pop”. Did we mention we gave our guests CUSTOMIZED pouches of Big League Chew bubble gum for their wedding favors? If that’s not unique, then I don’t know what is! One cute detail I forgot to mention is that our BLC pouches were the first ones EVER to have a couple’s story on the WHOLE back of the pouch!
The entire dance floor was filled until the very end of the night! Justin from Darling Wedding Productions provided an awesome mix of country and top hits — our favorite, and even threw in “Shout” at the end, getting all of the guests up and having a ball.
Did You Say “DESSERT”???!!
Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE dessert. I made a HUGE statement when I hired Truly Scrumptious Candy & Dessert for our wedding. Allison provided the most beautiful-looking and delicious tasting dessert bar anyone could imagine! She continued to replenish the desserts throughout the night, but everyone loved them so much that by the end of the night there was almost nothing left! People continue to talk about this dessert bar to this day — macaroons, customized cookies, mini pies, mini cupcakes, cannolis, chocolate-covered pretzels – need I say more?
Our wedding photographers, Maggie & Patrick from Living Radiant Photography, were some of the nicest people we’ve ever met and captured our day beautifully. The Durante wedding was anticipated for a long time and it was more than we could ever have imagined. You may have heard of perfect weddings, and this one sure was!
