Alissa and Kevin’s perfect day started with a fair amount of pivoting to achieve perfection. While their venue and plans changed several times, their resolve to get married stayed the same. And the result is a beautiful Eastern Shore celebration that we couldn’t love more. From Sara Reynolds of Sara Reynolds Events: 2020 wedding planning can be described in one word – “pivot”. However, Alissa and Kevin had embraced that word prior to the pandemic even starting. Their final wedding plans were affectionally known as “Plan H”.
When they first contacted me to be their planner they had booked at waterfront restaurant in Baltimore, right down the street from where they lived. It was perfect & we designed a wedding highlighting their love of the water and their love of the City. Then COVID hit. We let everything settle before we started to talk about back-up options. Alissa and Kevin informed me that they WOULD be getting married on the appointed even if it was just the two of them. When it finally became clear that Baltimore City wasn’t easing up on any restrictions we chose to move the reception to Kevin’s parents backyard. In three months we seamlessly changed the entire wedding over to the Eastern Shore.
Their Catholic faith and local church play a big role in Alissa and Kevin’s lives so they chose to keep their ceremony in Baltimore & the reception in Royal Oak. They even informed their guests if they wanted to stream the ceremony from their hotel rooms in Easton that was fine!
The final results of their wedding day are one I am so honored to have been apart of. Alissa and Kevin truly embodied the statement that “love has no boundaries”. These two have such a deep and heartfelt love that neither pandemic, multiple venue changes nor the Bay Bridge were going to stop their love story from playing out.
