A Moody and Magical Winter Wedding

January 6, 2021

The moody hues of this winter wedding make for a magical and romantic setting unlike anything we have seen before. The bride’s bold color palette of deep reds and black set the scene for a dark and moody love story while her bright smile and beautiful white dress add a softness that speaks only of romance. The drama is definitely in the details–from the groom’s gold boutonniere to the floral arch dripping with rich, burgundy and red flowers–scroll through to see more  of this magical and moody winter wedding.

From the Florist, Jamie, of J. Starr’s Flower Barn: The wedding vibe may be dark & moody, but the spirit of this couple is just the opposite! I met Alexsis when she started dating Phil, who is a friend of our family, and you could immediately see the love between these two runs deep. When they started planning their wedding, Alexsis was so excited about the whole process. She knew a winery was the right fit for them and the Inn at Grace is absolutely breathtaking! One of the great things about working with this couple is that they trusted their vendors whole-heartedly. Alexsis knew she wanted deep reds, burgundy, and black tones with accents in gold, but really left floral choices in my hands. We went for a showstopping bouquet for Alexsis that included roses, cymbidium orchids & dark foliages, and for Phil, an all gold greenery boutonniere. The striking ceremony designs adorned an arch that was built by Phil’s dad, and the family took the flowers to a family member’s grave the following day. Reception decor followed the winery theme by including 70+ wine bottles of blooms & greenery. We loved being a part of Alexsis & Phil’s beautiful, moody, joyous winter wedding!
