Kathleen & Matt’s Rustic Worsell Manor Wedding

September 10, 2015

Kathleen & Matt’s rustic barn wedding has all but stolen our hearts! And with a sweet love story too? Check out all the lovely captured by Tessa Marie Images and pin away!

From the bride: Matthew & I met many years ago in 2005 when we were in high school; I was freshman and he a sophomore. Within the next year we would become high school sweethearts, spending weekends against the fence cheering the other on in sporting events, talking late into the night on the hood of his car, and dreaming of our futures and what they may hold. As 2008 approached, winter turned to spring, and spring meant graduation and college for Matthew. We had decided to go our separate ways and live our lives to the fullest potential and let God take control of the rest. Fast forward to May 2013; Matthew was now an officer in the military stationed in Kentucky, and I was starting my journey as a graduate student in Philadelphia. It had been five years since we had seen one another face-to-face and a simple message turned into phone calls, Skype dates, and a plane ticket to be reunited for the first time. As I waited at the airport baggage claim, I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. As I saw the car pull up I could not believe the boy I once dated in high school was now a man! We soon found that the love we once shared had never left us. We define our relationship by the quote “If you love something let it go, and if it comes back to you, it is yours forever”. Within that year we were engaged and planning the day we had both dreamed of our entire lives.

We had agreed we wanted a wedding that reminded us of home. We knew life had taken us to different places and would continue to do so throughout Matthew’s time in the service. We wanted a place that brought us together and would be the foundation of our new life together. I am the girl who has been dreaming of her wedding since she was young. I always knew I wanted a barn wedding with beautiful scenery, and a place that I could decorate to make it our own. The moment I pulled up to Worsell Manor I knew this was going to be our beginning. After stepping foot into the gorgeous barn I had tears in my eyes and a million ideas. I looked at our parents and said “this is it…this is the place!”

On June 13th, 2015 we wed on a warm and sunny day below two trees, surrounded by our closest family and friends, with endless acres behind us. Our dreams had become reality! The owner of the Manor and his wife made us feel like family and were very accommodating throughout the whole experience. I would not trade a single thing about our wedding day and  feel extremely blessed to have timeless photos that captured each and every moment.

The venue was pretty, however be sure to not wear nice shoes with any type of heel, they will be ruined in the ground and rocks. Many of us had to throw away nice shoes. The venue is HOT so make sure you choose a day when it won’t be too hot for your guests. This was not a very handicap accessible venue, some wheelchairs almost tipped over on several occasions.
