Dazzling Wedding Days with Shelby Darling Photography

February 14, 2026

Happy Valentine’s Day lovebirds! On this very special day to celebrate all the love that there is in the world, we thought we’d share with you the pink queen herself, Shelby Darling Photography. With bright and bold photos to match her beautiful and bubbly personality, Shelby brings an energy of excitement and admiration to everything she does. A professional hype girl, who is truly ready for anything, Shelby is a powerhouse of creativity and fun-loving fabulousness.

A smiling woman with curly red hair and tattoos on her legs stands between parted pink curtains, wearing a short, floral dress with puffed sleeves. The vibrant scene captures the joyful style found in Shelby Darling Photography’s Wedding Photography work.

– Tell us a little bit about Shelby Darling Photography. What made you decide to work in the wedding industry? –

One of my good friends asked me to film her wedding as a favor (because I had a decent camera) and I said yes, and ended up loving it and have been doing weddings ever since! I realized I didn’t love doing wedding videos (way too much footage to go through and edit), but transitioned into shooting them and I’m obsessed with it and can’t believe this is my job.

– What is your favorite part about working in weddings? –

Working with people on one of the happiest days of their lives, I never want to take it for granted that I get to be involved in such intimate memories that they’ll remember forever.

Three images: a bride in a sparkly dress stands on a red carpeted staircase; a pink wavy-patterned plate with an "At Last! The Bride" note; and a table with accessories, shoes, makeup, and red flowers by Shelby Darling Photography.

–  What’s been your favorite wedding trend lately? –

Bridal parties sitting down at the ceremony (don’t hate me everyone!) I think it puts so much more focus on the couple and then you don’t have to worry about what faces the wedding party is making or if they’re not spaced perfectly, etc.

A vibrant triptych image: wedding invitations and accessories on pink, bridesmaids in orange and pink dresses holding bouquets, and wedding rings displayed on a pink velvet box with tropical leaves—perfect inspiration for MD Wedding Photography.

– Are there any trends that you are expecting to see in the upcoming wedding season? –

I’m hoping for COLOR!

– What are the top 3 things you’d recommend a couple consider when selecting vendors for their big day? –

1. Planner always! A good planner is worth their weight in gold and will help everything else fall into place. Make sure you like their style and personality because you’ll be working with them the longest and chatting with them the most.

2. A hair and makeup artist with a team! I have had weddings where one person is trying to service 7 people and even though they’re working so hard the timeline falls behind and it’s hard to get back on track.

3. A good DJ with lots of references who can transition well, and has a good personality to hype up the guests.

– What do you think is the best thing about the array of options that you can potentially offer a couple? –

My favorite thing about my coverage is that I only offer full day. So I’m there from the hair and makeup getting done, all the way to the grand exit. This way I can really tell the full story and it’s so much more relaxed than trying to cram everything into a standard 8 hours of coverage.

– Can you tell us an example of a problem that you solved for a wedding client? –

I problem solve at a lot of my weddings, but I think the most important thing I’ve done is snatching up my couples two year old nephew who was about to fall into a lake from a dock haha. It was much appreciated.

– What is the most important thing you would like couples to know about your service? –

That I truly adore all of my couples, and work my absolute hardest to ensure they have a wonderful time taking photos and a gallery that reflects their day perfectly.

And the MESW Team can attest, after working with Shelby for my brother’s wedding (pictures coming so soon!) that there isn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her people, including jumping in the pool in the pouring rain.
