From Megan Kelsey: I pulled up to the house where Halie was getting ready and instantly knew it was going to be a beautiful day for this Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum Wedding! There is so much history here on the East Coast and I love when I get to shoot places that incorporate the history of the area into the venue! Halie’s bridal suite was in this tiny little house just a few minutes away from CBMM and as I ducked through the door frames carrying her bridal details, I thought, what a cool place to hang out with your bridesmaids as you’re getting ready for your wedding day!! It was cozy, but so fun! Halie stepped into her dress and sat down to open her gift from Mike and that’s when the tears began to fall. These two know each other so well and Halie kept pulling item after item out of her gift bag explaining why Mike gave it to her and it was clear that these two share a really special friendship at the core of their love for one another. There’s nothing sweeter!
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum served as the perfect backdrop for this Maryland couple! With the breeze blowing in over the water and the smell of the sea filling the air, it was a nautical black tie affair. Halie’s choice of ivory, silver, & charcoal as her wedding colors made the greens in her florals and reception centerpieces pop and created an elegant look for the day! It was beautiful!! I couldn’t stop shooting the reception because it was just so timeless. Halie and Michael stepped in for their first dance and the entire room fell silent. Their love is so sweet and it warmed everyone’s hearts as night fell and the cool breeze started to blow in! Then the party really began…
