Engagement sessions have taken a turn from portrait session to romantic rendezvous, and we couldn’t be more here for it. Gone are the days of stuffy statuesque poses, and here to stay are cozy, natural and way-more-fun experiences! Cocktails at your favorite happy hour hangout? Um, yes. Downtown dog walking? Absolutely. Sunsets & sailboats where you popped the question? Sure thing! We can’t get enough of all the love captured by Paige Elizabeth Photography in this sweet St. Michaels e-sesh.
From Paige Elizabeth Photography: Kelsey + Gavin both grew up in Hartford County, and actually went to the same elementary and middle schools but somehow never knew each other. It wasn’t until 2012 when a mutual friend introduced them that they connected and the rest is history. They’ve been together for 6 years now and it was May of 2018 when Gavin booked a weekend getaway at the Inn at Perry Cabin – where he popped the question! After they booked me for their wedding and started chatting about their engagement session – it was easy to tell how much these two loved St. Michaels and it was clearly the perfect spot to get these special portraits. We started at their FAVORITE spot–Foxy’s Harbor Grille. They were having their end of season staff party but so graciously allowed us to get a few pictures, and even gave Kelsey and Gavin a few drinks! It was the perfect way to start their session off. We went on to wander around the adorable streets of St. Michaels with their pups Sadie and Lola in tow, and ended in the most perfect spot: The Inn at Perry Cabin, right where they were engaged. It had been pouring the day before their shoot but the sky opened up and gave us a beautiful sunset and truly beautiful light to end their shoot on. We had such a blast together on this crisp fall day and I can’t wait for their wedding next September!
