Last February we partnered up with our friend Deborah at Figgie to give one lucky MESW bride their very own pair of Eastern Shore-inspired wedding shoes. Deborah, being the amazing artist and #bosslady that she is, created the most AH-mazing custom design for our winner, Lauren! Check out these beauties…

Lauren told us: My love of the Eastern Shore started at birth. My family is from Harford County and my entire family has always vacationed on the Eastern Shore. I spent my summers as a child in Deal Island, MD, fishing, catching crabs and swimming in the Tangier Sound. Some of my very best memories with my grandparents are from our time at the shore house. Since I have only one grandparent remaining, having these special Eastern Shore shoes will be a special tribute to all of my grandparents at my wedding.

I loved the shore so much that I chose Washington College for my undergraduate education. As a Biology major I was able to spend some time out on the water as part of my courses and that was an awesome experience!

Mine and Evan’s love story began while we were both in Nashville visiting friends for a long New Year’s Eve weekend. On December 30, 2013, my life changed forever when I met my “winner” in a bar called Losers. About 15 minutes into meeting one another we realized that we agreed on just about everything that was important to us. We had the best night of conversation, dancing, karaoke, and drinks! The next night was New Year’s Eve and Evan made sure he was my New Year’s kiss. When it was time for me to head back to Maryland the next day, we knew that we wanted to see each other again.

The next 5 months were filled with long phone conversations and many flights between Baltimore and Memphis. We even attended Washington College’s Birthday Ball so that I could show him the shore and the school that I love so much! When I got accepted into Physician Assistant school that spring Evan decided he would move to Maryland so that we could be together more. Evan moved to Maryland and asked me to marry him all within one week! We were vacationing in St. Maarten with my family when Evan proposed and I could not have been more excited!

As Evan’s family is from Tennessee and mine is from Maryland, we chose Savannah, GA as the destination for our wedding. As a true Maryland girl, I am so looking forward to donning my Eastern Shore themed shoes for my wedding in September.

We caught up with Lauren after their honeymoon (in Bora Bora!!!! #sojealous), and got a few snaps of the wedding from her amazing photographer Rebecca Ann Lessner. How cute are these two?! We’re so ecstatic that we could send a little Eastern Shore with Lauren & Evan as they tied the knot. Best wishes & many happy years ahead to the newlyweds xo!
