You’d never know from the photos that this wedding happened against the odds. Leah and Clay had a lot of road blocks (and a closed Bay Bridge!) on their way to wedded bliss. But despite them all and against all odds their day was absolutely stunning, unique, and full of joy! We love her look–a minimalist dress with beautiful button details that make a simple + statement combo. Likewise her neutral colored flowers mixed with striking pampas grass flourishes styled by J Starr’s Flower Barn and the stunning clear top tent from Eastern Shore Tents & Events that make this wedding truly one of a kind–meant to happen, enjoyed by all, and against all odds.
From the bride, Leah: Not all weddings are perfect, but it is the people that you surround yourself with that makes it the best day of your life. If I could give any bride advice, it’s to go with your gut and to not stress about the little things. Because at the end of the day you will NOT remember it. After planning a wedding through COVID we knew if we continued with our big day we were taking a risk. We knew that some family members wouldn’t be able to make it. We knew we may lose a ton of money, and we especially knew things may not come out the way we “planned”. But we did know one thing–we were getting married! Against all odds and NO MATTER WHAT.
Thirty days before our wedding our ceremony location canceled. So we had to replan half of our wedding. Our vendors were beyond accommodating and I can’t stress that enough. Our wedding coordinator was our rock throughout the whole process. On the day of, the Bay Bridge closed… leaving me, the bride, 2 hours behind. While our friends and family waited anxiously, our vendors and wedding coordinator made them feel as comfortable as possible. Every single one of them went above and beyond and we are eternally grateful. Emotions were at an all time high, which made the night even more amazing when I was finally able to walk down that aisle.
