We’re smitten with this alfresco affair on the banks of the Wye River! Lauren & Bob showcased the estate grounds using natural elements (loving the stone + loose florals) paired with more modern details like their calligraphed acrylic signage. This clean and elegant approach made for such a stunning celebration of their love!
From Lauren of LCEvents: Lauren wanted to honor her California roots with a waterfront wedding. This “must-have” landed bride and groom, and a hundred of their closest friends & family at Wye River Estate in Queenstown, MD! After what felt like years of rain, the skies cleared and humidity subsided just in time for their big day. While designing the details, we stuck with stone, wood, acrylic and glass materials to enhance the natural beauty of the estate grounds. Lauren is pursuing her MFA in interior design, so I knew this wedding was going to be a beautiful one.
Romantic, wild florals were brought to life by Cape May Flower Co., and were comprised of branches and foliage with larkspur and white blooms. Elements of the couples modern wedding invitations were brought to life by Copperstone Co. with acrylic signage framed by geometric lines and brushed white background. Bob, of course, had input, as the couple swapped the traditional guest book for custom Capitals Hockey Jerseys, and custom koozies and the groom’s socks paid homage to the couple’s Corgi. Before finding their seats, guests referenced stacked acrylic cubes indicating their table assignments. Peak through those cubes and you could still catch a stunning view of the Wye River. Guests dined under an open tent lit by romantic candlelight and string lighting before hitting the dance floor. Lauren & Bob’s incredible taste in music made sure that everyone got a chance to put on their boogie shoes.
At the end of the evening, I had the chance to speak with the bride’s father. A true gentleman, he expressed his gratitude for the entire team of vendors that contributed to the wedding, and was bursting with pride and happiness for his daughter and new son. Lauren and Bob’s families were quite possibly the most gracious, kind (and funny) people that I have ever met. Working with them was a dream. It is families like these that make wedding vendors love their jobs. Lauren & Bob’s wedding was breathtaking in terms of location, but most importantly in the love and support from their families and friends that was constantly present throughout the day.
