A practically private beach day at Assateague Island National Seashore provided the perfect sentimental backdrop for Caroline and Brandon’s enchanting engagement session. From a dip in the ocean to a beautiful bayside sunset, you can feel the fun these college sweethearts had celebrating their engagement. Complete with a customized halo ring that represents their anniversary, and sea glass that Caroline brought straight from the Italian coastline where Brandon proposed, Cassidy MR. Photography captured all the gorgeous details of this dreamy day.
From the (almost) bride:
How We Met
Unassuming and counting down the days until graduation, Brandon and I found ourselves surrounded by mutual friends that we didn’t know we had during the Spring semester of our senior year at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Although we had taken a class together earlier that year, and even sat at the same table, I could not so much as remember Brandon’s name when we were reintroduced during the Windsurfing Club Spring Surfing Trip. The rest is history, and our friends will tell you that they knew it before we did, but after that we were practically inseparable.
About the Engagement
The inspiration for our engagement session combined so many important details of our story. When we started planning, the beach was an obvious and easy choice. Separately, Brandon and I have cherished our time at the beach and near the water for years. We both chose St. Mary’s College because of the gorgeous waterfront views and we spend our time in the summer swimming and surfing at Assateague Island National Seashore. It’s safe to say that this National Park holds a very special place in our hearts.
As if we hadn’t loved being at the beach enough, Brandon proposed on a secluded beach during our Italian Getaway to the Amalfi Coast. Being a natural born beach girl, I dropped my bags and started searching for sea glass as soon as we arrived at the beach in Positano. With Brandon’s help, my sea glass haul filled up fast. My hands were almost full when I felt a light tap on my back and turned around to see Brandon on one knee. Luckily, I had room for one more treasure.
